I am writting you from Cancún, Mexico. We will soon have our second Woman
Triathlon which location is at Isla Mujeres (Women Island) a small cliffed
island in front of Cancun. The site is amazing, last year the competitors
were more than satisfied. We have a sprint distance, and super sprint.

We would love to have woman from all over to experience this event. I will
work on translating the information, for the moment you may enter our site
which we are building, it will soon have english information as well.

... I invite members of the US TRIATHLON. We will also have a next day event with 5k, 10k
run, and 5k walk helping the local WOMAN CANCER ASOCIATION "DESAFIO".

OPEN INVITATION: LAST LAP with the support of the Municipal Government of Isla Mujeres and the Mexican Triathlon Federation.


PLACE, DATE AND TIME: "El Garrafón" Park on Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo,16th April 2005. Starting schedule for children and juveniles 9:00 AM; adults 20 years and older at 10:00 AM.
PARTICIPANTS AND CATEGORIES: Open to the female public and categorised according to the participant's age. There exists two distance categories, the shorter of which is open exclusively to those participants who have never previously undertaken a triathlon.

* short distance Children : Regular Children distance:
8 - 11 years old (50 mts swimming / 1 Km. bike / 500 mts running) (150 mts swimming / 4 Km. bike / 1 Km. running)
12 - 13 years old (200 mts swimming / 3 Km. bike / 1 Km. running) (300 mts swimming / 8 Km. bike / 1.5 Km. running)

* short distance Jr : Regular Jr distance:
14 - 15 years old (300 mts swimming / 4 Km. bike / 2 Km. running) (400 mts swimming / 10 Km. bike / 2.5 Km. running)
16 - 19 years old (400 mts swimming / 10 Km. bike / 2.5 Km. running) (750 mts swimming / 20 Km. bike / 5 Km. running)

* Short distance age groups: Sprint age categories:
20-29 years old (400 mts swimming / 10 Km. bike / 2.5 Km. running) (750 mts. swimming / 20 Km. bike / 5 Km. running)
30-39 years old (400 mts swimming / 10 Km. bike / 2.5 Km. running) (750 mts. swimming/ 20 Km. bike / 5 Km. running)
40-49 years old (400 mts swimming / 10 Km. bike / 2.5 Km. running) (750 mts. swimming / 20 Km. bike / 5 Km. running)
50 and older (400 mts swimming / 10 Km. bike / 2.5 Km. running) (750 mts. swimming / 20 Km. bike / 5 Km. running)

Relay race: (750 mts swimming / 20 Km. bike / 5 Km. running)

PRIZES: Prizes will be given at the end of the event in the "Garrafón" Park. There are medals for each finalist, trophies for the first three places of each category and gifts for the sponsors.

SUPPLY, ROAD PROTECTION, MEDICAL SERVICE: Supply booths will be found coming out of the water; at each turn during the bike race and at each 2 Km. during the running stage of the Triathlon. The streets will be closed to the traffic from 8:00 AM onwards. Medical service will be available for any emergency case along the route and at the finishing line.
Each competitor is responsible for her own health.

RULES, JUDGES AND TIME LIMIT: The law acting in force of the Mexican Triathlon Federation is certified by the FMTRI and the ATRIQRoo, chosen by the Organizational Committee. As long as you are in good physical health there is no age limit marked on the race due to the fact that this is a promotional event.

INSCRIPTION FEES: Prices in Mexican pesos (10 pesos per Usd aprox) till 14th April 15th April
Children from 8 - 13 $200.00 $300.00
Junior and age groups $350.00 $450.00
Relay $600.00 $900.00

COMPETITOR RIGHTS: Competitor number. Swimming cap. Finalist medal. Commemorative T-shirt. Supplies on route and at finish line. Official time registration. Results on Internet page. Massage in recovery area. Prize-giving awards meal. Transportation and entry to "the Garrafón Park". Round trip transportation to Isla Mujeres via ferry.

NOTES: There will be no inscriptions or handing out of packages on the day of the event. NO REFUND on inscriptions. Limited capacity of 500 participants. If a competitor does not pick up her package at the allocated location, day, and time, SHE WILL LOSE THE RIGHTS GIVEN THROUGH THE INSCRIPTION FEE. There will be NO delivery of packages on the day of the event. The commemorative T-shirt and the medal will be handed out when finishing the race. Each registered participant transfers herewith the rights to use her name and pictures for any promotion related to the event over to the Organizational Committee. The Organizational Committee has the right to make any necessary changes to this convocation of which registered participants shall be notified on time and via e-mail or in the previous meeting.

REGISTER AND PREVIOUS MEETING: 15th April on the dock of the "Embarcadero" (Km. 4 Hotel zone) from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The previous meeting shall be held at 6:30 p.m. at the same place. Make sure you have your inscription receipt with you to request your package.
